Wells & Glastonbury

Wells in Somerset is often called the smallest cathedral city in England.  A stroll around this attractive market town will reward the visitor with fine views of the medieval Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, amongst other interesting sights.

Glastonbury, only 5 miles from Wells, is renowned for its medieval abbey, once one of the richest in the country.  Set in the flat Somerset Levels, once the sea in Roman times, the Tor rises above the town to form a prominent local landmark resonant with historical associations.
